The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s State Implementation Program (SIP) bolsters efforts of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action to address our nation’s most pressing health care challenges—access, quality, and cost. An initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and RWJF, the Campaign is working to implement the Institute of Medicine’s recommendations on the future of nursing. The Campaign paves the way for nurses to lead efforts to improve health and health care through collaboration with business, consumer, and other health professional organizations. The Center to Champion Nursing in America, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and RWJF, serves as SIP’s national program office.
Funds were granted to SIP states for four periods. Funding for SIP 1 states was February 1, 2013 to January 31, 2015; SIP 2 states was November 1, 2013 to October 31, 2015; SIP 3 states, February 1, 2015 to January 31, 2017; and SIP 4 states, November 1, 2015 to October 31, 2017.
