This project will use workforce and education data collected during the first round of RWJF State Implementation Program funding to develop and pilot a data management system that will include a forecasting system. Nationally standardized RN Supply and Education Minimum Data Sets will be utilized. A comprehensive communications plan will be implemented to help promote this effort, with a planned outcome of meeting with many partners to broaden the impact of the workforce data.
The project will also expand the competency-based education progression model to at least 50% of public and private educational institutions statewide. Three non-acute care settings are planned to partner in seamless RN-BSN progression programs for their RN employees. The project will also develop and pilot a continuing education module to integrate population health/wellness care concepts into nursing practice in Connecticut.
