Minnesota

State Implementation Program

Phase: SIP 2

Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education

Project Accomplishments:

This project  addressed the Institute of Medicine’s report The Future of Nursing: Leading Change and Advancing Health, including increasing the proportion of nurses with BSN degrees to 80 percent by 2020. This initiative will be implemented by increasing the number of baccalaureate-prepared nurses in Minnesota through dual enrollment in MANE community colleges and universities, both urban and rural.

Access barriers to a baccalaureate education will also be decreased by tracking and measuring a detailed implementation and evaluation plan supporting aggregate data collection and analysis of student learning outcomes and graduate demographics.
