Wisconsin Releases LPN Workforce Report
The Wisconsin Center for Nursing, Inc.(WCN) recently released its 2015 Wisconsin LPN Workforce Report. This report is the result of the biannual, mandatory survey of over 12,000 LPNs. The report is sponsored by WCN, the state nursing workforce center, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The research for the survey was led by Josie Veal, PhD, RN, APRN, Associate Dean, Milwaukee Area Technical College, School of Health Sciences. Dr. Veal is also a 2014 recipient of a Campaign for Action Breakthrough Leader in Nursing award. The statistician for the project was Jeffrey B. Henriques, PhD, Department of Psychology, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Their work on this critical report provides comprehensive information on the status of the LPN workforce in Wisconsin, and recommends strategies to address future nursing shortages.
