Champions of Nursing

The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action Summit 2015, the national conference that took place in Washington, D.C., December 9–10, could not have happened were it not for the generosity of five sponsors who understand how important a strong nursing field is to America’s health. Thanks to these leaders:

Aetna

Aetna wants to build a better health care system and a healthier world. It starts with a simpler process, focuses on coordinating services to keep its customers healthy, and uses technology to connect patients and their health care team so the valuable information is where it needs to be to support the right care at the right time.

Best Buy

Best Buy, a leading provider of technology products, services, and solutions, sees nurses as a big part of its future, counting on nurse-led retail clinics to bring better health closer to its employees. Nationwide, Best Buy has more than 1,400 stores and locations and employs more than 125,000 people.

Cigna

Cigna Corporation is a global health service company dedicated to helping people improve their health, well-being and sense of security. Through its operating subsidiaries it offers an integrated suite of health benefits and services, as well as group life, accident and disability insurance.

The Johnson  & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future

In response to a severe nursing shortage in 2002, Johnson & Johnson launched its Campaign for Nursing’s Future. This multiyear, national initiative works to enhance the image of the nursing profession, recruit new nurses and nurse faculty, and help retain nurses in the profession. The Campaign includes scholarships and grants; nurse educator initiatives; recruitment resources; national recognition programs; a comprehensive website: DiscoverNursing.com; news and podcasts; and DVDs and educational programs.

UnitedHealth Group Center for Nursing Advancement

As one of the largest U.S. employers of nurses, UnitedHealth Group recognizes how important nurses are in the health care system. The Center for Nursing Advancement helps nurses navigate the demands of the swiftly evolving profession. The Center promotes the development of nurse leaders as they deepen their areas of expertise and emerge as innovators in new areas of care delivery.

The Campaign for Action is proud to have all of these sponsors on our Champion Nursing Coalition. They share the Campaign’s vision: that everyone in America can live a healthier life, supported by a system in which nurses are essential partners in providing care and promoting health.
