Preparing for the Next Generation National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

March 9, 2022

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) will present a webinar aimed primarily at nursing schools that serve students of color to prepare for the new National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) that will debut in April 2023. The Campaign is an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

This work is a continuation of the Campaign’s commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and schools of nursing from Hispanic-serving and American Indian/Alaska Native-serving Institutions. The webinar is directed toward them and our general audience is welcome to join.

For the past three years, many schools of nursing have been doing their due diligence to prepare for the new exam, “Next Generation NCLEX.” In this webinar, NCSBN’s test development director will talk about what students can expect on the new generation NCLEX.

Objectives:

  • Review changes coming to NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN exams in 2023
  • Understand the connection between the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model and the new case studies and item types that will measure clinical judgment on the Next Generation NCLEX
  • Gain hands-on experience with the Next Generation NCLEX item types and scoring methods

Presenter:

  • Jason Schwartz, MS, Director, Outreach, Marketing and Advocacy, NCSBN
