Mentoring Joint Learning Collaborative: Future of Nursing Recommendations

June 24, 2021

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

This webinar is part of the Mentoring Joint Learning Collaborative. During the webinar participants were able to review and strategize on how minority-serving institutions can implement the findings and recommendations from the National Academy of Medicine’s report, The Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity.

This learning collaborative includes nursing faculty and deans from historically black colleagues and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, the curriculum committee for the American Indian/ Alaska Native mentoring workshop, and the Campaign’s state-base Action Coalition leaders.

Key Objectives:

  • Engage in interactive and facilitated discussion about the National Academy of Medicine’s recommendations pertaining to nursing education;
  • Strategize on collective efforts to implement the recommendations to improve health equity and support minority nursing students;
  • Identify public and private-sector policies to be addressed to achieve these goals;
  • Develop an action plan to achieve the report’s goals.
