The AARP Center for Health Equity through NursingSM is seeking current and retired nurses to volunteer as positive, professional role models for students enrolled in nursing schools serving primarily students from marginalized communities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-serving institutions, and American Indian/Alaska Native- serving schools.

Mentors will share their knowledge and expertise in assisting students to advance and graduate from their nursing programs and provide constructive feedback and support to help students both professionally and personally. Volunteers will also help students navigate and graduate from the nursing program and prepare for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing’s national licensing exam (NCLEX) required for nursing practice.
