Webinar: Nurses Leading Change for Health Equity

June 17, 2024

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM ET

The purpose of this webinar was to explore innovative solutions that drive systemic change within the nursing profession. The presenters discussed strategies for nurse leaders to strengthen and diversify the nursing workforce and enhance health equity. Participants gained insights into featured programs created by grant awardees that demonstrate nurse leadership and  align with the recommendations in the National Academy of Medicine report, The Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity.

Watch the recording below.

Learn more about these programs, their outcomes, and lessons learned. A facilitated conversation with attendees followed.

Together, we can navigate the transformative journey toward a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future for nursing.

The featured programs all received funding through the Health Equity and Nursing Innovations Fund, awarded by AARP and the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The fund awards promising solutions for eliminating structural racism and other structural inequities within the nursing profession, health systems, or community and for projects that help improve access to care and services for those most disproportionately impacted by health disparities. The program and webinar are hosted by the AARP Center for Health Equity through NursingSM and the Campaign for Action.
