This webinar highlighted Native American nurses leading a Culture of Health in Native American communities. Marcella LeBeau, RN (ret.) is a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe who served in World War II as a lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. She is an advocate for Native American health, language and culture. Her many contributions to her Indian communities, state and country were featured in this webinar.

Participants will:

  • Discussed LaBeau’s experience in WWII, her roles and leadership, and her post-war experience serving the needs of Native Americans.
  • Discussed current challenges and strategies for advancement in Native American health.
