AARP is filling roles on local Patient-Family Advisory Councils (PFACs). If you are an active or retired nurse who has also been a caregiver or patient and would like to make a difference for future patients and families, please consider joining this initiative and volunteering to serve on the PFAC at the facility where you had experience as a consumer.

A patient and family advisory council is made up of current and former patients, family members and caregivers. They collaborate with employees (clinical, administrative and support) at hospitals and other healthcare organizations to provide guidance on how to improve the patient and family experience.

Join AARP’s community of 60,000-plus volunteers and donate your time and talent! AARP provides training and ongoing support.
