Samar Zahalan, MA
Campaign for Action Liaison
Samar Zahalan is a project manager at the Center to Champion Nursing in America, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to improve America’s health through nursing. As the liaison between AARP and RWJF, Samar provides support for the Center and for the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, also an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and RWJF to transform health care through nursing and build healthier communities for everyone in America. Samar comes to AARP from New Jersey City University, where she was the administrator for the Nursing Workforce Diversity grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. Samar has a background in the legal, educational, and nonprofit sectors.
Samar graduated with a dual degree in criminal justice and political science from Rutgers University. She holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Rutgers School of Criminal Justice and is a certified ESL instructor.
