Barbara Mitchell-Swain, BS, CMP
Meetings and Events Adviser
Barbara Mitchell-Swain is the meetings and events adviser for the Center to Champion Nursing in America, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Barbara plans and manages meetings, conferences and other events in support of The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, a national initiative of those same organizations to transform health and health care through nursing and build a healthier America. Barbara is a certified meeting professional with more than 20 years’ experience. She has planned and coordinated meetings and special events both nationally and internationally ranging in size from ten to 15,000. Most recently, Barbara served as the senior meeting manager and project lead for Children’s National Health System. Barbara holds a bachelor’s of science degree in heath science with a concentration in biology from Brooklyn College.
