Nurses Week 2015 Videos

In 2015, the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action celebrated National Nurses Week by teaming with filmmaker Carolyn Jones, producer of The American Nurse Project, which includes an award-winning book, a feature-length documentary, and interviews that highlight  nurses contributions.

The Campaign, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, works year-round to transform health and health care through nursing and build a healthier America. In Jones, starting with that week in May 2015, the Campaign found a distinctive way to salute the nation’s 3.6 million nurses.

In an interview with the Campaign at the time, Jones said that The American Nurse Project allowed her to “give something back to the profession.” She had started with just the book, “but the book stayed primarily within the nursing community. So I decided to do a film that focuses on five nurses and their stories.”

To promote the film, Jones partnered with the Campaign in 2015, from which came three videos (below). The first is an interview with Jones, and the other two turn the spotlight on those nurses have helped, giving them time to say what nurses mean to them.
