Current Nursing Issues Discussed
Two very important political issues which are enthusiastically and passionately debated and discussed in the nursing profession are:(1) mandatory nurse to patient ratios, and (2) 8-hour versus 12-hour shifts. These topics generate discussion among various stakeholders invested in these issues, including nurse co-workers, nurse colleagues, nurse administrators, nurse executives, legislators, and other key players on the health care team.
I have asked the ABSN students in our Policy and Politics in Health Care Systems course at Rutgers School of Nursing to post commentary and generate a dialogue on the aforementioned nursing issues. We look forward to the Campaign for Action community's feedback!
